What are deductions and when do they apply?

In all racing markets (Gallops, Harness and/or Greyhounds) any scratchings that occur after the final field has been declared are classed as late scratchings. Final Field comprises the final acceptors as advised by the controlling Race Club.

All late scratchings will incur deductions to all winning bets placed at Fixed Odds. Deductions are calculated on the full face value (the full return) of the bet.

For example, if you have placed a bet of $100 on a horse at odds of $2.00, your full return would be $200. If there is a deduction of 22c – for example – due to the late scratching of another runner, then 22% of the full return is deducted – $44 – leaving you with a final payout of $156.

For scratchings that occur prior to the opening of an official on course market (usually available 25 minutes prior to the official race start time) IASbet.com will apply a deduction as per the following approved schedule. Official deductions (as declared by the Stewards) will only apply for late scratchings that occur after the official on course market is open.
