About Australian Football Rules or “Aussie Rules”
Australian Rules Football, “Aussie Rules” or Footy is an Australian contact sport with 16 teams participating in the famous Australian Football League (AFL). Australian Rules football originated in Melbourne but has since become a significant part of the Australian culture and is now played in every state and territory in Australia. AFL Football is the most highly attended spectator sport in Australia with over 6 million people attending games in 2006.

AFL Premiership season
The AFL Premiership Season is a 22 round season which began in late March. The top eight teams will compete in the four-week Toyota AFL Finals Series. The teams play in the semi finals with the winning teams playing in the Grand Final, which is traditionally played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on the last Saturday in September.

About the Brownlow Medal
The Charles Brownlow Trophy or the Brownlow Medal, is the medal awarded to the " best and fairest " player in the Australian Football League of that season. The winner of this award is decided upon by umpires and is considered to be the most prestigious award for a player to receive. It was named after, Charles Brownlow, a Geelong player who played in the beginning days of the Victorian Football League.

About the Coleman Medal
The Coleman Medal is awarded every year to the player who kicks the most goals in the season. It is named after John Coleman, a former Essendon player who kicked 537 goals in 98 games.
