JJ Liston stakes day at Caulfield

The spring stars step out at Caulfield on Saturday when the Melbourne Racing Club hosts its annual JJ Liston Stakes meeting.

Not only will leading Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup betting contenders step out but also Cox Plate Betting chances with 17 nominations for the JJ Liston Stakes.

Headlining the list of nominations is Melbourne Cup winning trainer Lee Freedman's Caulfield Cup favourite Serenade Rose, who will be having her first start since her award-winning three-year-old season in which she took out both the Crown Oaks and the AJC Oaks.

Saturday's card also features the RSL Vain Stakes (1200m) and Vietnam Veterans Quezette Stakes, in which several star three-year-olds will be running.

Golden Slipper placegetter Churchill Downs and highly-rated Haradasun head the list of 22 nominations for the Vain Stakes for colts and geldings, while De Lago Mist, Nediym's Glow and Ulfah are among the 15 fillies nominated for the Quezette.
